Okay, I will try doing what I can, although I mostly done what I can and if there is no new chapter, I won't edit as much as the last 2 days (but I will keep an eye on the wiki). I have few things in mind left to do and some plot articles (mainly for the main characters).
Shouldn't the pic be the color spread? I mean, the color spread is usually the main cover and title holder for a chapter. And sometimes the title is written again after the color pages, but in smaller text. Here the title wasn't written on the color pages, but still I think it should be the one used. Did you not use it, since there wasn't the title written on it or for some other reason?
Well I'm used that the color pages are used in the chapter pages, so it is little weird for me (but it's not some kind of a problem). I'm used to something like this priority (when available): Cover Color Spread > Cover Color Page > Cover Title Page > Title Page. But if it's little weird only for me, then that shouldn't be a problem.
The manga infobox, I guess the pic will change, when a volume cover is out or any other good one? Or you prefer to be the logo?
Well Judo was a right name, but I stated when created the page that it could also be Jude. It pretty much depends on translators preference and taste. Unless the author write his name in english, even Jude is not precise name. But in order to not cause confusions, we are going with the only translation so far, even if they are not exactly correct every time, I know that.
That's good, but when it's wrongly translated, we should keep the wrong translation? If the scanlators are ignorant people and do not correct their mistakes, even when there is proof for the opposite, we should keep the incorrect/wrong/lie information (I'm currently remember Buster Keel for example, were character names were written in english by the author, but the scanlators translator used totally different name Lavie -> Lovey, even when their mistake was pointed they continued with the wrong one)? I didn't change the name, because I like the otherone more or any reason like that. I changed it, because Hawk is the correct one (and a wiki should have correct information) - http://nanatsu-no-taizai.wikia.com/wiki/File:Hawk_design.png The author wrote it himself, the scanlators my write as much Hork as they want, but his name is Hawk. This is a wiki about the series, and not about the scanlators. Tomorrow another group may pick it up and they may change some names of the characters, which name will you choose then?
A question, if they have translated it Meriodas, instead of Meliodas, here would have been used Meriodas with R? I agree that the wiki should follow their translation of names, but when something is confirmed, the right one should be used and not to continue with the wrong one (Rufi/Luffy).
And for the scanlators to change it, they first need to see it. If they don't know it's Hawk, then obviously they will continue for sure with Hork.
I don't like it when people do major changes without asking me first. So please do so next time.
Well, as you know, I believe this wiki is for people who read the scanlations instead of the actual japanese manga itself, therefore it would be more user friendly if we used information regarding the scanlations itself. Magi Wiki works the same way and I feel that it has been very helpful.
I do understand that you wish to use Hawk for now, so I will keep it this way. I plan to wait until approximately chapter 30, and if the scanlators still keep it 'Hork', I plan to change it back.
Please tell me next time IF any major changes are planned!
Thank you very much.
Okay, I understand that and agree to that. But Magi is different case that this. The reason is, that as far I know, they don't have confirmed names romanized by the author, so they are the ones who choose the spelling. While here, we have the authors decision and wish on how the character to be named in english. Magi scanlators even changed some of the names few times, while translating it (so even they are not consisted with themselves). There is anime right now (which brings great popularity) and there are multiple groups translating it, which results in a lot of names spelled differently. And the wiki may be user friendly to the scanlations, but not to some of the anime fans. Also the manga got licensed and will have official english release, which again may have different names and again won't be user friendly to the people who started reading it like that. In our case, it may be the same, at some point we may get anime, officially english manga, merchandise, another group to pick up the manga, etc, but all of them should use the authors decision on the name, because it's confirmed and there shouldn't be differences in those namings and no excuse can be accepted for using wrong name, while knowing the right one. It's like using wrong information, just because the scanlators made translation error that bring different meaning to something.
Didn't know about the guidebook. That makes even more less sense. They changed only some of them? I would have understood if they changed all or none, but only some... This is what I called that some translators are ignorant, they think they are more right than the authors themselves...
It would confuse for sure some people. But a simple small explanation like: Until now we used XXX name, but according to the guidebook his name is YYY, so to respect the wish of the author, we will use YYY from now on. And that should do the trick. From Fairy Tail, Gazille was used for a long time, but when his name was revealed to be Gajeel, every group changed it to that. No matter how long it was used a name, if you wish, you can always correct your mistake (especially in cases like this, were you are not to blame, since you sometimes can not know for sure what is the name the author intended to use).
Of course, I also respect translators and I'm not saying anything about that. But some are quite hard to talk with. They do not try to listen or correct their mistakes and always think they are right (of course there are people like that, who are not translators too). I still respect them, but that doesn't mean I have to like his personality or him.
Yeah, I scanned the pics myself. I'm thinking to continue buying the manga, since there are nice extras in the volumes, so it's worth it. Although currently the extras are only designs, but knowing the author, he will add other stuff probably too (like profile pages and such). There was even a page with all the wanted posters and that revealed the names of the other Seven Deadly Sins.
Btw, seeing the spine of the volume (the middle part of the cover), there is a pic of Elizabeth and part of Meliodas. So I'm pretty sure that the next volume (which will be out in April 17) will feature a continuation of that image.
A habit from reading a lot of manga. Some authors likes to foreshadows things, so I usually pay attention to all panels.
I didn't bother reading the raws, since my japanese is not up to the level of reading smoothly and understanding all. But from the pics, it looked that he was fooling around with Ban, who didn't even realized that this was King. And it seemed that Ban and King are sort of like cat and dog. He probably made a deal or something to protect someone/something and that's why he can't be buddy-buddy with the other sins. Not only thinner, but younger too :> I guess that all those strange things are explainable with the use of magic. The position of his tattoo was also seen. I though that Merlin will be the only flying character in the group and Escanor be the only one using spear (unless Escanor's one is more like staff), but now King is flying and using spear :>
That thing was strange, it did looked like the pigs eye, but also like it's not eye. I'm totally not sure what that was. The woman looked like Merlin, unless those were characters from the coming 1-2 arcs and she is some holy knight. But if the next sin they go after is Merlin, then it's quite possible that this was her. But I'm more interested in the person who was on the rocks. He must be a big shot, unless he was added only as view effect or something and it's not a major person in the series.
It might be that Hawk's Mother might be some kind of legendary creature (that'll be ridiculous though).
I sort of think that the woman is the one in Meliodas' flashback in chap 11 (I think her name is Liz?). It might be that she's his master and she is now part of the Holy Knights. I'm pretty sure the guy on the rock is probably the leader of the Knights or something. Possibly, he might be Elizabeth's brother and therefore a Prince of Britannia. He might be the ones leading the Holy Knights.
That's probably true about King, but I also can only read barely any Japanese. I'm thinking that maybe King is the Sin of Gluttony, but he lost his powers of being a Seven Deadly Sin, so he became thinner.
