Introduction arc[]

Gowther's wanted poster is displayed on a board in Boar Hat.[1]

Vaizel Fight Festival arc[]

In the anime, Gowther traveled to Vaizel in disguise, where he read and bought some books, accompanied by Dale in enchanted armor; they later talked in the cave nearby the Vaizel rock, where the town's fight festival was held. In Vaizel's marketplace, Gowther noticed Meliodas, Ban, and King passing by while checking out books.

Armor Giant arc[]

Gowther makes his first true appearance as the easily embarrassed Armando, reluctantly playing along with Pelliot and his gang's role-play of the Seven Deadly Sins. The children's game eventually leads them to the Boar Hat, with Pelliot demanding as the "Captain" of the Seven Deadly Sins, to know why a bar was built in his village without his permission. Soon after, the real Seven Deadly Sins appear, having just arrived in the town looking for news of their other members.

Armando talking with Ban

Armando chatting with Ban

After an initial fright, the children take a liking to Diane, playing with her while Armando speaks with Ban. He starts apologizing for any trouble Pelliot and his friends might have caused, though Armando is told by Ban not to worry, but that he should put a stop to the children's role-play of the Seven Deadly Sins, lest they anger the Holy Knights. The group is then interrupted by a roar coming from the forest, which Armando explains the villager's attribute to a mountain god. A townsman then arrives, hastily declaring that a group of Holy Knights was now searching through the mountains for a dangerous criminal. While the Seven Deadly Sins confer amongst themselves, Armando watches placidly, oblivious of the fact that Pelliot and his friends have run off in search of the criminal and the Holy Knights.

Gowther hitting Armando

As the children are traveling in the forest, Armando tries to convince Pelliot to turn back since it's dangerous. Pelliot gets upset at Armando and expresses regret that he saved him in the past and continues to walk. Mera asks Armando what Pelliot meant and Armando tells Mera how he met Pelliot, and the reason he's so loyal to him.

"Gowther" is later found on the mountain next to Ordan of the Dawn Roar. He is seen standing on a whole group of knights that he easily defeated. Gowther and the Dawn Roar come to a stand-off, and each side waits for the other to move, so they can attack. But Pelliot comes in and tries attacking "Gowther" with a sword, thinking that he was the dangerous criminal. He then tried to smash Pelliot, but Armando pushes him out of the way and gets smashed instead, making the opening Dawn Roar was waiting for.

Gowther saving his armor

As the battle begins, the Dawn Roar charge at "Gowther." In response, the Seven Deadly Sins arrive to save him from the Dawn Roar. Unfortunately, the Deadly Sins get overwhelmed by them, causing "Gowther" to get damaged. As Weinheidt was about to send out a powerful arrow attack towards Gowther, it was stopped by Armando, who then tells everyone how impressive it was for Dawn Roar to damage the armor, but they might soon regret releasing the seal. Pelliot then runs towards Armando, happy that Armando's uninjured, Armando apologizes to Pelliot for hiding his identity, and reveals to everyone that he is the real Gowther.

Gowther decides that Dale, and he should take shelter in a cave in the forest of Ordan. However, the bats caused Dale to run in fear towards a spot in the forest. Gowther finds him and decides to give him some seeds to feed to the birds. Gowther started relaxing with Dale until he suddenly smashes a wild rabbit. Gowther returns the rabbit to its place where he also found a piece of wood which he carved in the cave to fill the gap in Dale's armor.

After leaving the cave while having Dale stay, he surprises Elizabeth and Hawk in Ordan while they were hiding from the Holy Knights. Gowther introduces himself while also accidentally insulting Hawk by oinking at him. He felt surprised and was asked if he was hiding as well. He questions back if they were hiding.

After introducing himself, Hawk tried to prevent Elizabeth and him from revealing their names, but failed. They were afraid of Gowther turning them in, but he didn't really care. After finding Elizabeth's wanted poster, he joked if there was a bounty which Hawk took seriously. Elizabeth asked if he was looking for money, but he stated he was looking for an armor adhesive. However, he also stated that he can't know how people are feeling since it's not written in books. Elizabeth understood that he wanted to help someone important to him and even gave a lover as an example. Gowther asked if she had one which she lied after remembering Meliodas. He thinks that his person is different which Elizabeth thought he's referring to a friend.

As soon as he found Dale, he apologized for not finding an adhesive. Ban was vigorously wondering what was wrong with him and then Dale starts attacking causing the battle to begin. After grabbing one of Weinheidt's arrows, he reveals his identity.

Gowther presenting the Armor Giant's head to Dawn Roar

Gowther giving the head of the armor to Dawn Roar

The Dawn Roar think he is kidding, but Weinheidt confirms that he is Gowther due to the latter stopping his full powered arrow with his bare hand. Ban then walks toward Gowther and tells him he thought he was a big old man under the armor. Gowther was surprised to see that Meliodas had not aged in ten years. At first Gowther does not believe that the kid before him is King, but he quickly changes his mind when King transforms into his better known human form. Slader, the leader of Dawn Roar, gets excited to meet the Deadly Sins, but says that they are there for the Armor Giant's head. Gowther concludes that an all out battle would destroy the village, so he unexpectedly removes the armor giant's head and gives it to Slader to get him and the Dawn Roar to leave.

Gowther taking Pelliot out of the field

Gowther taking Pelliot out of the battle field

Slader accepts the offer, but tells him that if he ever got the mission to take his head, he would do it, and leaves with his group. King then tells Gowther that he was surprised, as he thought he was sympathizing with the monster which Gowther does not understand. Gowther then tells everyone that the monster was most likely formerly human which shocks them. Shortly, the monster gets up again despite having been beheaded and Gowther mentions that it was once a Holy Knight. He then explains that he forced the monster inside his armor to contain its powers for a while and takes Pelliot out of the battle field. When Pelliot wakes up, Gowther tells him to leave the area since it is too dangerous for Pelliot and heads back to the Deadly Sins to fight with all his power. Gowther then appears to Ban and Meliodas who were arguing whether to save the beast or kill it. Gowther saved Meliodas from the monster with a strange power like bow, growing on his arm, thus revealing his Sacred Treasure.

Gowther revealed that he used his power Invasion, where he trapped the beast in an illusion created from what his heart most desired to see the most. Ban is about to kill the beast until Meliodas stops him, saying that the beast is partly human, but Ban does not care and removes the beast's heart with a whip. After the beast starts fighting again, since as a demonic being, it has more than one heart, Gowther carries King after he's hit by the beasts Venom Spit, but once Meliodas kills it, they return to the bar. Gowther then re-introduces himself to the group, particularly to Elizabeth, who welcomes and is pleased to meet him, then ask if she could use his strength which Gowther refuses, much to her shock. He then tells her that this was not the first time they've met since she met all the Deadly Sins when she was a young girl, much to her surprise. Gowther then accepts Elizabeth's offer as she is the princess.

Gowther told everyone Elizabeth is in love

Gowther reveal that Elizabeth is in love

Gowther watches the group having a party and is glad to meet everyone again. Meliodas starts to chat with Gowther while mentioning how none of them are the same race and Meliodas proceeds to ask Gowther about what happened during the ambush ten years ago. He replies by using his power to look into Meliodas' memories, saying that it was Merlin who attacked and rendered him unconscious. Meliodas is shocked that Merlin was the traitor and asks Gowther if he knows where Merlin is, to which Gowther replies that he does not know. Gowther then uses Invasion on everyone else and, much to their dismay, reveals their secrets: Diane's true height, what Ban did during a past battle, and the reason why King cannot use his true strength, though King cut him off. Meliodas then tells Gowther to read the atmosphere, to which he does but asks everyone if Elizabeth is in love with Meliodas, much to King and Ban's fear of Diane's reaction. However, Diane does not hear this, as she had passed out, presumably from too much alcohol. King then hastily tells Gowther to read the atmosphere.

Gowther then sees Pelliot, and Meliodas encourages him to talk with the latter. Pelliot hugs Gowther when they are alone and asks him to stay, which Gowther could not do since he has to be there for his teammates. However, Pelliot thinks that Gowther is using it as a way to leave him. Gowther then transforms back into Armando to explain to Pelliot that Armando does not exist and that he bases his personality on a traveling entertainer, since Pelliot enjoyed him, and the hair style belonged to Pelliot's dead mother. Pelliot grows upset at Gowther for revealing such information and decides that, since he cannot stay, Pelliot will become a Holy Knight to capture him and would not forgive him even if he apologizes to him, but Gowther turns around and tells him that they would then meet again which makes Pelliot break down crying.

Kingdom Infiltration arc[]

Gowther coming along as well

Gowther coming with Meliodas and Ban to Liones

As Meliodas explains his reason to head to Liones and get his sword back, a mysterious Holy Knight appears out of nowhere and takes Elizabeth with her, saying she is the last key to the Coffin of Eternal Darkness. Meliodas orders Diane to throw him to Liones with Ban deciding to go as well, followed shortly by Gowther, saying he wanted to see the bond between Meliodas and Ban. Diane tosses the Deadly Sins towards Liones at full speed. During the speedy flight, Gowther couldn't hear a word from Ban. Meliodas, Ban and Gowther land outside of Liones and proceed to run toward the kingdom. However, the Great Holy Knights are aware of their arrival and send out their Holy Knights to stop them. Meliodas tells Gowther and Ban that their mission is to save Elizabeth and to keep their fights to a minimum. Ban wonders if Meliodas' minimum meant to go all out, to which Meliodas responds that he will go all out. As Meliodas and Ban continuously massacre every Holy Knight who attempts to stop them, Gowther keeps running.

The trio then stop when they feel a large power coming from the south side of the kingdom, which turns out to be Camelot's army with their leader Arthur Pendragon. Later, the trio continues to cut through the Holy Knights as they attempt to break through. Deciding to end this with minimal bloodshed, Gowther uses his Sacred Treasure Herritt to overwrite the memories of the attacking Holy Knights and turn them into allies. Gowther explains his technique to the bewildered Meliodas and Ban who then told him not to use it on them no matter what, to which Gowther complies. The trio sneak away from the enemy Holy Knights and go into hiding in order to figure out a plan. Ban tells Meliodas that they should head to the Liones castle, because in fairy tales, the princess always gets locked up in the underground prison. Meliodas agrees to the plan, and they head to the castle with Meliodas promising to save Elizabeth. The trio then sense a battle going on at the south gate which Meliodas decides to head over to, thinking Elizabeth could be there.

Threader snap Gowther neck

Gowther's neck snap by Slader

The trio sees a giant sharp rock appear in the kingdom, and realize it must have been created by Diane's ability. Thinking she could be in trouble, Gowther offers to go to the area and help her while Meliodas and Ban save Elizabeth. Gowther rushes towards Diane's location as fast as he can, but three Holy Knights find and trap him in order to kill him. Gowther ask if they could fight somewhere else, so they do not hurt the people, which the Holy Knights do not agree to, but Slader appears and disables them, After promptly dealing with them, Slader turns to face off against Gowther. Slader starts attacking Gowther while the latter dodges his attacks. Slader asks him if he believes in fate, which Gowther responds that things happen so is not fate. Slader says that he wanted to fight Gowther for so long, and was surprised to meet him so soon. But Gowther claims there is no reason to fight until Slader says that the Deadly Sins betrayed the king and grows angry because of their reason. Gowther stops his blade and tells Slader that he has to end this quickly, but Slader uses Overpower on Gowther, giving him the chance to break his neck.

Gowther punching Dreyfus

Gowther punch Dreyfus

Slader goes into thought at how the king once saved him, until Gowther stands up, despite his broken neck and sees his memories. Slader is shocked to see Gowther in good shape. Gowther tells Slader that they do not have a reason to fight since they both serve the Royal Family, but Slader refuses, saying that the Dawn Roar has replaced the Deadly Sins, which Gowther misinterprets as Slader being his junior and shakes his hand which Slader refuses. Gowther then asks Slader if the king really told him that the Deadly Sins are traitors, which silences Slader. Though he then says that the king is sick and was not the one who told him, but the Great Holy Knights. Gowther again ask if the king really told him, which shocks Slader upon realizing the truth, and he walks away, realizing the mistake he has made. Wasting no time, Gowther finally proceeds to the battlefield where he saves a now-renegade Holy Knight Guila in a bridal manner from Great Holy Knight Dreyfus' Pierce attack, whilst firing a small light arrow on his arm. Gowther thanks Guila for protecting Diane, and goes down to face Dreyfus, which the latter points out Gowther's ability as the most dangerous of the Deadly Sins since it is able to crush minds. Dreyfus rushes in and stabs Gowther through the chest with Break to stop Gowther from using his ability, but Gowther is still alive and punches Dreyfus, sending him flying. However, all of this is already part of Gowther's Nightmare Teller, putting an illusion on Dreyfus, which makes him see his dead brother and starts breaking down in tears, regressing into a child. Gowther stares coldly at Dreyfus, calling him a fragile human.

As Gowther is about to leave Dreyfus to his nightmare, the latter senses a dark pressure coming near. Before Gowther can react, Dreyfus breaks free from Nightmare Teller and returns to the real world while Gowther lays down frozen, but thanks to Gowther, Dreyfus is heavily injured mentally and decides to retreat along with Gilthunder while Helbram fights them off. Meliodas mentions that Gowther's powers are fading due to his frozen state. When Helbram, after casting off his human form, attempts to kill a still-frozen Gowther, Diane and the others involved with the Sacred Tree's roots, King uses Chastiefol's Form Eight Pollen Garden to protect them. As Howzer speaks of the idea of a truce between the Deadly Sins and Holy Knights, Gowther seemingly regaining consciousness uses Light Search on Howzer, showing his words hold no deception. Howzer is alarmed to Gowther's sudden recovery after he was stabbed through the chest but realizes that he was healed thanks to King's Chastiefol: Form Eight Pollen Garden. Diane thanks Howzer for helping them, but Gowther mention that Howzer isn't doing it for them, but for Diane which Howzer denies while blushing. When Dreyfus accepts the idea of a truce, Howzer is happy for Dreyfus, but Gowther asks the Great Holy Knight if it was the other side that accepted the truce, to which the latter denies what he is talking about, and goes off with the others to save Elizabeth.

Diane stopping the demon Jericho

Gowther stopping Jericho along with Diane

After regrouping with Meliodas, Gilthunder, and Margaret, the group heads to the main castle to free Elizabeth and Bartra, however, the group is teleported to a lost forest thanks to Vivian, however the group is teleported back to Liones thanks to a cloaked figure who defeats Vivian easily. The cloaked figure reveals itself to be the Boar's Sin Of Gluttony, Merlin of the Seven Deadly Sins. Merlin later takes the group to the Royal Charm by teleportation and meets the Dawn Roar. Slader is upset to see Gowther due to his current situation and that Gowther could laugh at him if he wants, which the latter does, much to Slader's annoyance. After freeing Elizabeth and Bartra, the group interrogate Dreyfus' crimes which Gowther reveals that he saw into his memories and knows he did it out of jealousy toward his brother, Zaratras which Dreyfus admits defeated. After Merlin leaves alongside Arthur and Bartra to treat the king's disease, the castle is once more under attack, this time by Hendrickson, who also awakens the demon blood in every New Generation Holy Knight. As Jericho begins to transform into a Demon and is about to kill Zeal and a slowly transforming Guila, Gowther appears along with Diane and stops Jericho from killing them. Gowther then uses Invasion on Jericho and Guila to keep them calm. However, he loses control of Jericho who then assaults Diane but manages to keep Guila from transforming.

When a Hybrid Demon appears before them, Guila blasts the beast away while telling everyone she is fine, although Gowther seems unsure. Guila and the others decide to go and save Elizabeth and help Meliodas while Ban and King cure the Hybrid Demons in Liones. Gowther rejoins with the other Deadly Sins at Merlin's Old Research Facility to face Hendrickson for a final battle. While the Deadly Sins, Meliodas, King and Diane are fighting against Hendrickson, Ban questions Gowther how Hendrickson gained demonic powers whereupon Gowther explains that Hendrickson gained it through a demon corpse which he was told about by Guila. Ban is surprised at hearing that, until Hendrickson slams Ban through the wall, behind which Ban discovers a demon corpse which the latter shows to everyone. When Ban slams Hendrickson to the ground, the group minus Diane, due to her size, goes inside to find Hendrickson where the latter is found and reveals the corpse of a Gray Demon and uses its blood to transform into a new form and easily blast the upper part of Ban when he tried to attack him. Gowther along with the other Deadly Sins, are blown out of Merlin's Research Facility and are badly injured due to Hendrickson's newfound power. Gowther tries to stop Hendrickson from getting Elizabeth by using Rewrite Light, but Hendrickson appears behind him and beheads him. As everyone believes Gowther is dead, he appears holding his own chopped off head, searching for his glasses which alarms Diane and King. Once he re-attaches his head, Gowther uses Broadcast to transmit the plan Meliodas mentioned to everyone, Deadly Sins and Holy Knights alike, to defeat Hendrickson.

After Hendrickson's defeat, Gowther witnesses Meliodas falling from the sky after using his Revenge Counter on the former Great Holy Knight and is later thanked by King Bartra for saving the kingdom along with the rest of the Sins. When Ban grieves for Hawk's death, Gowther logically explains to the Fox's Sin of Greed that if the captain had died instead of Hawk, their chances of victory would have been diminished and Hawk's death didn't even affect the fighting prowess of the group and considers this not much of a loss. This angers Ban, who is about to strike at Gowther for saying that but Merlin gets in their way, defending the Goat's Sin of Lust. She then asks what happened to his armor, revealing that she was the one who gave it to him. Gowther tells Merlin that the armor was destroyed, and the Boar's Sin of Gluttony assures Gowther that she'll get him a replacement as soon as she can.

After the major event, Gowther starts a relationship with Guila, much to everyone's surprise. The two seem to act like love birds, however, Gowther is shown to have a creepy smile while waving at Guila from inside the house. The next day, Gowther gets a brand-new uniform from Guila, and he appears to be more flirtatious and seductive. The Deadly Sins end up celebrating the festival while working in the Boar Hat along with everybody else, as Gowther flirts with Guila who is in the bar with everybody else. In the morning, Gowther attends the award ceremony held in honor for the Seven Deadly Sins except Ban and King who are on their way to the new Fairy King's Forest and Escanor, who is still missing. Here he witnesses Meliodas calling for the halt to the awarding due to disgruntlement coming from the Pleiades of the Azure Sky: Deathpierce, Dogedo, and Waillo who stepped forward. He also noticed Balor's Power Eye on Hawk's ear as explained by Merlin. Eventually, the Goat's Sin of Lust watches the battle between Meliodas and Dogedo as he declares the fight to be over when Meliodas injures the Holy Knight's hands before completely defeating him.

After the Six Stars left, Gowther unintentionally destroys Hawk's inflated ego when he reveals that the talking pig's Power Level is actually 30 while his is 3100, much to Hawk's anger and dismay. Later, Gowther accompanies his fellow Sins to meet with King Bartra, who informs them of the growing omen of the Holy War set in Camelot, south of Britannia. Later, Gowther heads to Merlin's new headquarters, where she gives him strange pills as medicine which Hawk finds tasty. As Diane comes in, begging Merlin to find King, Gowther walks out while tossing the pills away and spiting out the one he has. When Meliodas appears to talk to Merlin, the latter asks Gowther to get ready to head out to Camelot in a few days, which Gowther refuses, and walks away with Guila who is waiting for him. As the two lovers walk out, they come across Zeal, who begs to see his sister, in which Gowther steps in between the two, saying he can talk to him. In actuality, Gowther takes this time to erase all of Zeal's memories, leaving him with no recollection of his name, or that he even had a sister.

Gowther vs

Diane stops Gowther.

A confrontation with Diane soon after reveals that Gowther has manipulated both sibling's memories; Guila's memory manipulation occurring during the battle between Ban and Meliodas. It is during that battle, Gowther had noticed that both Ban and Meliodas (who despite suffering heavy injuries), increased in power level. After coming to the conclusion that feelings of love are what caused this change, Gowther switches from studying friendship to love, using Guila as his makeshift lover. Gowther attempts to convince Diane that the memory manipulation was necessary at the time, as it is what helped suppress the Demon Blood within Guila.

Revealing that he has made Guila's memories a much happier one, Gowther asks Diane and Elizabeth which set of memories Guila would be happier with. Diane disagrees with this, asking Elizabeth to go get Meliodas and Merlin. Gowther attempts to stop Elizabeth, but is stopped by Diane. Here, the battle between the Sin of Lust and Sin of Envy begins.

After a long battle with the Serpent's Sin, as Diane collapsed in exhaustion and Gowther sulking, they wondered what could've happened. Realizing it was Gowther, the Deadly Sins captain demanded an explanation from the Goat's Sin of Lust, who, after realizing his actions, demanded to be sealed away in armor once again before it's too late. Gowther restored both Zeal and Guila's memories while apologizing to them, however, Guila forgives Gowther as she believed she deserved it for drinking Demon blood and thanked him for the memories of her late father.

Gowther with Peace Amulet

Peace Amulet placing Gowther under control

Under Merlin's order, Gowther was forced to return to his true form until a matter of dealing with him was dealt, which revealed his true form to be a doll and was taken care of by Slader. Later, after Meliodas and the others failed to stop Galand, Gowther returned to his human-like form and laughs sinisterly at tricking Galand, whom he put under an illusion to make him believe that he succeeded in killing The Deadly Sins and therefore retreat.

Istar arc[]

When Meliodas wakes up from his sleep, Gowther reveals he is under control thanks to Merlin's new item, Peace Amulet, but the group is saddened about losing to Galand. However, Meliodas soon lifts everyone's spirits by stating they were to train more to get stronger and form a strategy, and he is optimistic that Arthur and Elizabeth can finally awaken their hidden powers as well. However, Meliodas also believes the situation to be so bad that they have to bring in Escanor, the last missing member of The Seven Deadly Sin. He later goes to check up on Diane's health until King popped up to check up on her. But to everyone's surprise, Diane forgot who she was and is continuing to lose her memories.

King punching Gowther for erasing Diane's memories

King punches Gowther for erasing Diane's memories.

Gowther reveals he used Lost World on her to test if her feelings for King are stronger than memories. King grows furious at Gowther's action, but quickly calms down when he realizes he did the same to Diane and thus shouldn't judge, but he still punches Gowther and goes after Diane along with the others who know that she is heading towards her home, Megadozer, to talk to Matrona.

However, they are soon attacked by Monspeet's Hellblaze which Hawk Mama swallows to save them. The group now loses sense of Diane, Meliodas tells King that Diane will be fine for now, and they should focus on training to defeat the Ten Commandments which King agrees. The group decides to head to Istar to regain Meliodas strength and to have the group trained.

Once there, Gowther enters the Cave of Training and was paired up with Arthur as Gowther tries to avoid King as he was still upset at him. Both confront a Knight Golem that isn't able to be destroyed. They deduce the one controlling it had to be somewhere near, but the Golem is able to decapitate Gowther. To Arthur's surprise, Gowther is still alive. Gowther and Arthur soon came out of the Cave of Training with a strange cat-like creature on Arthur's head.

Ravens arc[]

After Meliodas' regains his strength from the Land of the Druids, Gowther and the others head to Vaizel to join the Great Fight Festival that is announced to be held by Gloxinia and Drole, two members of Ten Commandments.

Great Fight Festival arc[]

Before escaping his captives, Denzel and Deathpierce, Fraudrin claims that Gowther is a former member of Ten Commandments representing Selflessness, but triggered his own Commandment, which resulted in him losing all of his memories and feelings, whereupon he is replaced by the former.[2]

Upon arrival with the others from the Boar Hat, Gowther remains separated throughout the maze of the Great Fight Festival, reuniting with everyone at the center in the end. He appears and lands on top of Escanor, introducing himself dramatically and greeting the Lion's Sin of Pride whom he finally meets after ten long years. Meanwhile, Drole briefly recognizes Gowther's name but is unable to make any connections.[3]

As the tournament begins, Drole uses Creation to mold the battlefield and organize the competitors into pairs; Gowther is paired with Jericho.[4] After Gloxinia promises to fulfill the wishes of the victor, Gowther is determined to win the festival and be granted a heart. He shows zero hesitation regarding the rule of killing the opponent, and in their first battle, Gowther and Jericho is pitted against Escanor and Hawk.[5]

Gowther using Nightmare Teller on Escanor

Gowther using Nightmare Teller on Escanor.

Jericho and Hawk try to convince Gowther not to fight his Seven Deadly Sins' comrade. Despite their efforts, Gowther stubbornly knocks both of them unconscious and advances toward Escanor.[6] He immediately uses Nightmare Teller to reawaken Escanor's traumatic memories, revealing his uncomfortable past and creating a false illusion of Merlin to fill Escanor with despair. However, the thought of Merlin creates a pseudo-image of the sun in his mind, subsequently filling him with unparalleled power.[7]

Gowther and Jericho vs Escanor and Hawk

Escanor about to "attack" Gowther.

Believing that Escanor can only maintain his transformation for a few seconds, Gowther confidently continues the battle. Escanor immediately punches him, sending his glasses flying away and landing on Hawk's head. Losing his vision, Gowther angrily uses Gatling Jack to rapidly fire a barrage of arrows in random directions.[8] After Escanor easily avoids the attack by jumping into the air, he summons his Sacred Treasure, Rhitta, and prepares to unleash a devastating attack whilst seemingly lecturing Gowther about toying with people's heart. Despite the danger, Gowther does not hesitate and uses his Sacred Treasure, Herritt, to aim a Black Out Arrow at Escanor. The powerful attack is unleashed, causing a devastating shockwave and whipping up dust and sand into the sky. As the dust gradually settles and clears up, Gowther notices him passing out after being hit with Gowther's arrow.[9] Surprised to be still alive, Gowther recognizes himself to be the victor, causing Jericho to become frustrated by Gowther's lack of sympathy for his fellow Deadly Sin. She directs Gowther's attention towards where Escanor's attack was targeted, revealing a heavily injured Drole and Gloxinia.[10]

He is later teleported to Liones with the rest of the group when Meliodas commences his attack, and can only watch as his captain is slowly overpowered by the rest of the Commandments and killed.

Defensive Battle for Liones arc[]

Gowther is revealed to have been captured by the Pleiades of the Azure Sky and locked in a dungeon. After the Commandments' failed invasion and Fraudrin's death, Gowther is ordered by the king and Merlin to be freed. As he is released from his chains, he is revealed to have regained his memory and considers himself to be both the Goat's Sin of Lust, Gowther, and Gowther the Selflessness of the Ten Commandments.[11]

Corand arc[]

Gowther flees

Gowther flees

Gowther reunites with his companions on the roof of the castle, awaiting the arrival of Diane and King. When these arrive, Gowther is surprised to hear from Diane that she had recovered her memories, claiming that the lost memories can not recover. Diane replenishes that she is mistaken because, although the memories are lost, the feelings are still present. Diane tells him to help him recover his feelings as promised 3,000 years ago, which Gowther does not understand.

When Bartra appears and shows Gowther his old magic heart that he had discarded in the dungeons of the castle, Gowther suddenly has a memory of his past. Overwhelmed, Gowther quickly flees the scene.

Infiltrating the kingdom's crowd with different hair, Gowther slowly begins to remember his past. He decides to use his power to erase those memories forever. However, Diane appears to stop him. Diane tells him that he can not erase her memories, but Gowther says he just wants to eliminate the noise. Diane states that he is erasing his heart, to which Gowther says he has no heart and does not interfere. Gowther attacks her with several shots of his Invasion, but Diane dodges them all with her dance. Gowther realizes that while evading his attacks, Diane's power level increases to 15,100.

Determining that his chances of defeating Diane are 4%, Gowther decides to take his 36% chance of escaping. Gowther decides to go through a crowded tunnel to prevent Diane from attacking him. However, King cuts him off with True Guardian. When reading King's level of power at 41,600, Gowther determines that his chances of victory dropped to 2%. Gowther asks him how he was able to raise his power level in such a short time, embarrassing him by asking him if he relates to his small wings.

When Princess Veronica appears, Gowther decides to take her hostage. However, seeing his face, Gowther remembers Nadja's face and unties in a state of havoc. Gowther tries to erase his memories, but Diane contains it. When asked why he insists on doing so, Gowther reveals that he had already erased his memories in the past.

Gowther regains his memories and feelings

Gowther recover his emotions and feelings

Merlin appears then, revealing the past of Gowther with the princess Nadja and like not being able to revive her of his death with his magical heart, Gowther erased his memories. Gowther insists on erasing them again, but Diane tells him that she and the other Sins are with him and that he must keep his memories both bad and beautiful. Gowther manages to remember Nadja and also the words of her creator. There, Merlin reveals that the "magic heart" that Bartra gave them, is really nothing more than an ordinary object, and that the true heart of Gowther is inside him as it always has been.

Realizing what he did, Gowther recovers his memories and also his feelings that had been sealed, increasing his magic power at the same time.Gowther thanks Diane for guiding him on the right path, wanting to embrace her with joy, even though King gets in the way. The three come out of there happy.

Gowther shows his past with Bartra

Gowther goes along with King and Escanor to a bar. While King ends up drunk, he begins to give him inconsistencies about what's between them. When he passes out, Gowther reads his thoughts to see that King continues to resent his misdeeds, but Escanor tells him not to worry because King is kind. When Escanor loses his glasses and releases his other form, Gowther and Escanor carry a wounded King out of the bar.

Gowther attends the banquet at night with all his companions, spending a good time saying that it is like going back ten years to the past. There, Diane asks Gowther what it was that his creator ended the Holy War 3000 years ago. Gowther is saddened and says he can not tell them, either he is not allowed or they do not accept it. Ban then asks him the origin of his transvestite habit, leading Gowther to show them how Bartra made him wear servant clothes in the past, creating that habit on him.

The next day, the Sins meet so that Merlin explains that their next destination will be the city of Corand where a dimensional distortion is occurring that prevents anyone from approaching Camelot. Gowther points out that on the way they will pass through Ordan and that he would like to stop there for a moment.

Gowther saves Pelliot from a demon

Gowther saves Pelliot from a demon

Along the way, Gowther feels powerful unnatural presences in Corand, one belonging to the Ten Commandments. When Elizabeth starts acting strange and faints, Gowther goes with the others to see her in her room. There, Gowther sadly hears the story of how Meliodas and Elizabeth were cursed for 3000 years, condemning Elizabeth to die there in three days.

Upon reaching Ordan, who was being controlled by the demons, Gowther saves Pelliot from an Ochre Demon, using his Invasion to force the demon to self-inflict severe wounds. There, Pelliot tells him that he was actually in one of the Seven Deadly Sins and that he was not trying to hurt him when he told him. Gowther asks if he still wants to be a Holy Knight to capture him, Pelliot tells him that what he wants is to be a knight equal to him.

After finally arriving at Corand, Meliodas is deceived by an illusion of Zeldris and captured by Melascula. Gowther feels his presence in the center of the city, so everyone goes to rescue him. In that, the thousands of skeletons of the victims of the Corand massacre are reanimated by Melascula. Initially, Gowther and the Sins can easily deal with them. However, the skeletons soon become more powerful with the energy of Meliodas. Gowther tries to use his Jack to control them, but it is ineffective. After Merlin destroys them with Exterminate Ray, it explains that the skeletons do not move with nerves that Gowther can control with his power, but because of their resentment.

After eliminating all the skeletons, the last one is fed with all the concentrated power. This, however, turns out to be too much for him and ends up destroyed. This only results in vengeful spirits ending up owning Diane. While everyone is questioning fighting her, Gowther tries to help her by using her Invasion to enter her mind. There, Gowther finds Diane suffering inside her mind due to having caused Elizabeth to recover her memories and put her life in danger. Gowther tries to free her to return to King, but the spirits prevent claiming the body of Diane and expelling Gowther.

After Diane is saved by an aroused Elizabeth, Gowther is surprised by the others when hearing of the past relationship that Merlin had with Elizabeth. There, Melascula appears to face them all taking their original form as a gigantic snake. Gowther is protected from his attack by Merlin, taking him in her Perfect Cube with Elizabeth. Gowther feels the wave of evil caused by Meliodas to free himself from his prison consumed by his Assault Mode.

Gowther using Breaker Off

Gowther immobilize Melascula

While Escanor confronts an evil Meliodas, Melascula is overcome in battle by the Sins and Elaine. Gowther uses his Breaker Off to immobilize her by cutting his nervous connections, allowing Elizabeth to purify her miasma and return it to a small snake.

Gowther witnesses the fight between Meliodas and Escanor. Upon returning to Boar Hat, Merlin declares that with Escanor wounded, Meliodas lost in his demonicity, and she forced to watch him and Elizabeth, Gowther, Diane and King must fight alone if something happens.

Outside, Gowther tells Diane and King that although the odds of Meliodas returning to be before is zero, he still expects Meliodas to return to normal.

Prelude to the New Holy War arc[]

Gowther with his new pendant

Gowther shows his pendant

Gowther gives King the fake heart he used to brought, which he turns into a pendant for him. When shown to Diane, she likes to point out that it is a symbol of Princess Nadja. However, Gowther says that humans like useless things like that, disappointing Diane and King. Gowther says that although he retains Nadja's memory of that object, he can not bring it back to life, but expresses that having them fills him with great warmth, cheering King. At that moment, everyone is alarmed to see that one night suddenly is consuming the sky.

When Diane rescues Elizabeth and Meliodas from an enemy attack, Gowther and King rushes to find out who attacked them. In that, an old demon appears to analyze the powers of all. King asks Gowther if he knows him, being shocked when he reveals that it is Meliodas' master, Chandler. Chandler proposes that they give Meliodas and Elizabeth and let them go, but they all refuse.

While Chandler unties his Meteor Works, Gowther manages to escape thanks to Hawk using his Transpork to turn into a Sky Manta. King says that he never expected to have to combine powers with Gowther, while both join to create their Combined Technique: Celestial Arrow. Gowther warns King that Chandler can use the Full Counter, so he must wait for him to give him the signal for the attack to strike, King says he relies on him. Combining an illusion as decoy, Gowther manages to evade the Full Counter causing Chandler to reflect the illusion and not be able to return to his position to reflect a second attack and make the hit of the Celestial Arrow effective.

When King attacks a horde of approaching demons, Gowther identifies a single presence in them, so he warns King not to attack, but it's too late as Chandler uses his Full Counter behind his own illusion to wound King with his own attack. Gowther questions how he is not injured after receiving the stroke of the Celestial Arrow, to which Chandler affirms that he received enough damage despite the magical barrier he had raised.

Chandler using Absolute Order

Gowther receives the Absolute Order

Gowther prepares for another attack, but Chandler says he must punish him for using his blood to draw a seal on his hand and curse Gowther with Absolute Order. Chandler orders Gowther to stay out of his way, while he goes to kill Elizabeth without Gowther being able to do anything.

When everyone launches to fight Chandler, Gowther and Hawk are left behind. Hawk tells Gowther that they must do something, but Gowther reveals that if he opposes the Absolute Order he will be destroyed, regretting not being able to help his friends.

After Hawk licks the seal on Chandler's hand, Gowther decides to participate in the battle even though the Absolute Order is still active. He used his Invasion to make Chandler's Grudge Blade against King fail, allowing King to strike him a direct hit with True Chastiefol.

While Chandler seems to have been defeated, Gowther begins to suffer the effects of opposing the Absolute Order. His body contorts and dislocates and falls while saying that until there he reaches. Everyone is alarmed to see this. Elizabeth tries to heal Gowther, but her magic is ineffective.

When Drole and Gloxinia save everyone from the attack of an empowered Chandler, Gowther is taken to the Boar Hat and along with the rest they flee the place. Merlin declares that Gowther was a fool to oppose the Absolute Order, and that if it were not for his doll's body he would have died on the spot.

Merlin fixing Gowther

Merlin fixing Gowther

When everyone returns to Liones, Merlin takes care of repairing Gowther's body leaving only his head active. While examining his body parts, Merlin praises her former teacher, admitting that even when she was thinking of doing some upgrades on him, Gowther is so well-built that it is no more room for improvements. There, Gowther's head ask Merlin for a favor. Merlin states that she can not make any improvement on him, leaving Gowther to recite a phrase that his creator used to say to express his admiration for Merlin's talent. Merlin agrees to listen to his petition but with no guarantees. Upon hearing Gowther, Merlin reacts surprised by his request, asking if what Gowther had not been able to say before about his creator ending the Holy War was related.

New Holy War arc[]

After recovering completely, Gowther reunites with his companions who were preparing for the Holy War. He uses his secret technique to copy Merlin's voice and confuse Escanor, saying that he had been actualized for the great battle.

Gowther joins Diane and King in the Search-and-Destroy Force as representatives of the Seven Deadly Sins, marching straight to Camelot and facing the Demon Clan army. During the advance, Gowther remains in the Boar Hat with Elizabeth and Hawk.

When the battle against the demon army is unleashed, Gowther and Elizabeth acknowledge that the fanatical attitude of the Holy Knights who fight is due to Ludociel's "Cheat Hope".

Gowther and Hawk going after Elizabeth

Gowther and Hawk going after Elizabeth

During the battle, Gowther remains with Elizabeth while she reasons with the demons and convinces several of them to leave and abandon the battle. When the princess' actions are revealed, as well as her effort to heal everyone and keep them alive, Gowther says that Elizabeth's abilities were appreciated by even the most powerful of the Four Archangels.

After Estarossa appears in the battlefield persecuting Derieri, Gowther is saved along with the rest of the group from Estarossa's Black Hound by Diane, who brought all of them underground.

When Estarossa takes Elizabeth away, King, Sariel, Tarmiel and Derieri decide to go after them. Gowther secretly asks Hawk to help him follow them. Transformed into Sky Manta, Hawk manages to reach them and asks Gowther because he asked him so suddenly.

Gowther and Hawk contemples the battle

Gowther contemplates everyone's memories returning to normal

On the way, when Hawk asks about Estarossa, Gowther denies his identity and calls him "that man". There, Gowther remembers as in the past, its creator the magician Gowther asked him to help him perform a forbidden spell to alter all the memories of an individual and its related.

Gowther ask to be destroyed

Gowther ask Mael to destroy him

As he recalled how his creator told him that the spell would be broken if someone lost his false perception of the individual, thus returning the true memories to everyone else, Gowther and Hawk arrive at the Heaven's Theater where a dark-consumed Estarossa was battling against King, Tarmiel, Sariel and Derieri. When everyone except both of them and King begin to writhe in pain, Gowther concludes that the forbidden spell and their shared perception is breaking and their memories are returning to normal.

Gowther declares that if it does happen but, he will offer his life to stop it, since it is his responsibility to take charge of the sin he and his creator committed. Thus, when from the darkness of Estarossa the goddess wings emerge surprising everyone, Gowther says that is the truth. The son of the Demon King "Estarossa" never existed in reality and his true identity is the Archangel, Mael.

Mael suffers a tremendous blow to recover his memories, demanding to know who is responsible for making him turn against his own people. Gowther goes ahead revealing himself as the responsible, asking to be destroyed as punishment.

Gowther wounded by Mael

Gowther wounded by Mael

Mael recognize Gowther as one of the Ten Commandments and immediately attacks him with a strong knee strike. Mael takes him by the neck claiming that having made him idolize a dirty demon like Meliodas, turning his brother Ludociel into his enemy and stealing his Grace is an unforgivable sin, proceeding to attack him with a strong blow from Ark. Mael stamps Gowther's body against the ground with his foot, and tells him that before ending with him he wants to know the reason for what he did to him. Gowther tells him that it was to compensate for the balance of power that was lost when Meliodas betrayed the Demon Clan, forcing the Goddess Clan to seal them after losing Mael and thus ending the Holy War.

Mael destroys Gowther's heart necklace saying that he put him before such humiliation and pain just to end the Holy War. Mael wants to make Gowther suffer a thousand times his pain, but then Mael realizes that Gowther is just a doll. Gowther confirms that he was created by a great magician who gave his life to perform the forbidden spell. Mael lifts him by the neck, saying with dementia that he can not make a doll suffer who does not know what pain is.

King protects Gowther

Gowther ask King to stop protecting him

Then, Mael is suddenly punched away by King's True Guardian. Gowther asks King not to get involved, but King reminds him of the fourth rule of the Seven Deadly Sins of always helping a comrade in trouble. Gowther tries to shout at Mael to stop when he tries to attack King, but the Archangel and the Fairy King engage in combat. When King is wounded by Mael's Kyusai no Ya, Gowther begs him to destroy him and King has not committed any sin against him, but Mael is only glad to see him suffer. When King decides to keep fighting, Gowther tells him that it is okay if he dies and that he no longer wants to lose more loved ones, but King tells him that if he knows the pain of losing a loved one, he should not talk about dying so easily. Gowther cries for forgiveness, as he joins the battle against Mael, as does Sariel and Tarmiel.

Gowther read Mael's memories

Gowther reads Mael's memories

As the battle intensifies, Gowther asks Nadja what to do, not wanting to see his friends suffer but also being unable to hurt Mael after what he did to him. There, Derieri asks Gowther to read his mind and pass on her plan to all but Mael. Gowther uses his Search Light and Broadcast to inform everyone of Derieri's plan. Thus, while Sariel and Tarmiel retain Mael with their Graces after a distraction from King, Derieri attacks him with her Combo Star while Gowther searches Mael's mind for a way to take away the Commandments. In doing so, Gowther manages to discover the spell to remove the Commandments.

When Mael manages to kill Derieri and absorb her Commandment, Gowther shields King from the explosion of power that is released. Mael is enclosed within a cocoon of light to proceed to take the power of the four Commandments, releasing a rain of rays of light and darkness throughout the Theater. Gowther is responsible for charging an injured King with Elizabeth and Hawk. Gowther tells them to get behind him and asks Hawk to take care of King so that Elizabeth can heal him.

Gowther apologizes to both of them, blaming himself for everything, Hawk tells him not to worry. When one of the rays was about to hit Elizabeth, Gowther saves her by sacrificing one of his arms to shield her. Gowther says he thought he could solve everything by sacrificing himself, but Mael's hatred is too big to be quelled and at that rate, things will become even more disastrous. Gowther apologizes to Mael, claiming he will fight with him to protect his friends.

Gowther prepares to receive another of the rays, but this is absorbed by a portal that appears in front of them. From this portal, Oslo leaves and after assuming his giant size, Diane emerges from his mouth, stopping all the rays that were directed at her companions. Diane asks what the situation is, Gowther uses Broadcast to quickly update her.

Gowther using Herrit's Tokusei - Han'i Kakudai

Gowther helps Diane and King against Mael

When Mael emerges with his new transformation, Gowther feels the pressure of his immense power. He is then absorbed by the Lightball of Love like his companions. Gowther is able to survive the attack and use his Sense Opener to undo the effects of the attack that turned pain into pleasure and sleep. Gowther jumps behind Mael next to Diane, Elizabeth and King. After preparing Twin Bow Herrit in its Tokusei - Han'i Kakudai mode, Gowther gives the signal to King and Diane to use their combined technique.

With the range of his power expanded, Gowther uses his Kaleidoscope technique to create dozens of illusions of King attacking Mael with Yggdra Cloth, confusing him and leaving him unable to recognize the real one. At the same time, Diane uses her Drole's Dance to increase King's power level. Although at first it seems to work, Mael uses the Truth Commandment to create the Bell of Truth, scattering the illusions and attacking the real King.

Gowther catches Mael in an attemp of self-destruct

When King and Diane are slashed by the Scythe of Silence, Gowther realizes that Mael is materializing the Commandments that he absorbed into physical forms. When Diane and King lose their ability to use magic, Gowther identifies the seal on their bodies as the cursed mark of the Reticence that has sealed their magic and asks Elizabeth to rush to heal them.

Seeing Mael preparing another Lightball of Love, Gowther can not allow them to receive another attack in their current condition. Gowther jumps and clings to Mael's body, asking for forgiveness for not saving him and for having to kill him in order to save his friends. There, Gowther reveals that the favor he asked Merlin when he rebuilt his body was to place a mechanism of self-destruction on him. Gowther reveals that with the power extracted from the Sunshine of Escanor added to four great chemical elements of destruction taken to the limit by Merlin's Infinity has enough power to kill all living within a radius of fifteen kilometers, including him.

Gowther asks Elizabeth to take everyone away, but then, a strange smoke begins to expand and causes Gowther to fall to the ground unable to move. Confused by what happened, Gowther begins to hallucinate with Nadja. Despite knowing that it is an effect of the Purity Commandment that forces him to see what his heart desires most, Gowther ends up yielding to the illusion.

When the Lightball of Love redirected by the Lightning Rod of Gideon ends up destroying the Heaven's Theater, Gowther still unconscious prey of the illusions falls from the sky like all the others . He is saved from his fall by Hawk, who catches him turned into Sky Manta.

Gowther using Invasion on Mael

Gowther using Invasion on Mael

Gowther asks the illusion Nadja to let him go so he can help his precious friends and Mael, but Nadja tells him not to let him go anywhere, saying that he stole her purity and her heart, and asks him to be free of that great burden and join her for all eternity. Gowther realizes that it is too late for regrets and manages to free himself from the immobilization that held him back. Gowther is very happy, stating that he never regretted anything and that he would choose the same path again to meet Nadja. Gowther hugs her calling her the most important person for him in the world and who has not lived a single day without his feelings for her not being present. The illusion of Nadja embraces him and thanks him before disappearing

Gowther awakes while Mael's body begins to writhe and ripped apart because the power of the Commandments consumes him now that his strength and magic power were exhausted. However, before he was destroyed, Gowther jumps on him and, asking for another chance to save him, uses his Invasion to enter inside his mind.

Gowther talking with Mael inside his mind

Gowther talking with Mael inside his mind

Inside his mind, Gowther meets Mael on the hill where he used to go when he wanted to be alone and where Elizabeth used to go to comfort him. Mael says that all he wants is to disappear quietly, but Gowther tells him that Elizabeth would not allow that. Mael insists that he does not deserve to live after taking so many innocent lives and even trying to kill Elizabeth. Gowther tries to convince him that he must be saved, but Mael says that nobody wants that or awaits his return. While Mael curses the power of the darkness that he obtained after leaving his people, the four Commandments that he absorbs appear in strange ways separating Mael from Gowther, ordering him to disappear from that body.

The Commandments inside Mael's mind

Gowther restrained by the Commandments

Gowther claims that them cant stop him since they cant use their powers without a vessel and yells to Mael to expel the Commandments, but Mael is annoyed to have to endure such shame. Gowther affirms that he wants him to live to atone for his sins, and there Mael demands that he tell him the true reason why he was chosen to become Estarossa, since although Gowther told him it was because he was the only Goddess equaling the power of Meliodas, there were others like Ludociel and Elizabeth who were also on a par with him. Gowther suggests that if he has managed to remember so much, then his face should become familiar. Without understanding, Mael has a setback to an occasion in which he ruthlessly massacred a group of innocent demons who pleaded for their lives, and among them, there was a woman who looked exactly like Gowther who was crying for a last moment with his beloved before being killed. Mael does not understand who she was, and Gowther reveals that her name was Glariza, the lover of its creator, the magician Gowther, and the person the doll was made after. Mael is shocked by that reveal and then his body began to reach its limit. Gowther yells Mael to release the Commandments before being destroyed, but his is fading out of his mind.

Gowther continues to falling to he ground, but he is then saved by Mael, who was returned to his original form, to the great happiness of Gowther and Elizabeth.

Gowther ask to be punished by him, but Mael ignores him. When Gowther ask him to go to Camelot with them, Mael claims if he must fight the Demon Clan as a member of the Goddess Clan, even after he make his comrades suffer and anyone wants to be near to him anymore. Then, Elizabeth arrives and convinces Mael to help them in the battle. Finally, Gowther goes along Elizabeth, Diane and King and Mael to Camelot.

When is revealed than the four Commandments that Mael have expelled are reaching Camelot to be absorbed by Meliodas, Hawk ask Gowther if that is really so bad, to which Gowther affirms that in fact it is.

Upon reaching Camelot, Gowther form with his friends a defensive posture to protect Merlin from Zeldris.

When Zeldris starts to attack under desperation to stop Merlin, Gowther and the others tries to defend her until King uses True Pollen Garden to protect everyone. After Zeldris is defeated by Mael and the Chrono Coffin is completed, Gowther celebrates with his friends the end of the Holy War. As the Demon King pretends to kill Elizabeth, Gowther takes her out of his attack for Merlin to use Perfect Cube to protect the three along Hendrickson and Escanor. As the Demon King releases a toxic and caustic storm over the area, Elizabeth and the Sins are protected by King's True Pollen Garden. As Ban is still outside, Gowther says that any living being must resist that storm, but Ban was able to. After the storm is stopped by Ban and this one fights the Demon King, Gowther shows happy to feel Meliodas fighting the Demon King from the inside.

Seeing Ban fight against the Demon King, King notices that compared with who he was before leaving to the Purgatory, Ban is a complete different person. Gowther affirms that despite having losing his immortality, Ban have obtained a power even greater. When the Demon King manages to take the upper hand, King wonders if the Demon King's power was increased. The Demon King says that their voices could never reach the real Meliodas. There, Gowther comes out with a plan and manages to use his Invasion and take Elizabeth and the other Sins into the spiritual world where Meliodas confronts the Demon King. Gowther is happy as he and his friends meet with the real Meliodas.

Gowther reveals that since they can't directly interfere in Meliodas's spiritual world, they came there to give him his feelings. When Gowther suddenly falls silent while explaining how they got there, King asks him what happens, to which Gowther tells him that he must read the environment so as not to interrupt the meeting of Meliodas and Elizabeth. Gowther and the others are protected from the Demon King both by Meliodas in the spiritual world and by Ludociel in the real world.

Elizabeth and the Sins meet Meliodas in his spiritual world

Seeing Meliodas attack the Demon King with small spheres of darkness, Gowther points how much strength and density they have. As Meliodas gains new strength from his friends and becomes able to overpower the Demon King, he ask them to go back and help Ban. Gowther states that the only reason for what he recover his hearth was for The Seven Deadly Sins and such, their captain must return with them, to which Meliodas agree.

As they return to the real world, Merlin recognizes that the Demon King is in a desperate death throe, pretending to take Meliodas with him in his demise. Merlin states that they must get rid of the Demon King from Meliodas's body right now.

Ban manages to intercept and stop his death throes, and then send him flying with a kick. Gowther sustains King to let him combine his technique with Elizabeth and Merlin in their Combined Technique: Triple Prison leaving the Demon King trapped. This however manages to break free in a berserk state, but when Hawk distract him with his ultimate technique Meat Darkness, Diane surprises him with her Diamond Tower, giving Ban the clean guy to give the Demon King the final blow. With a strong fist that sends the Demon King to break the diamond, this is finally defeated and erased from the body of Meliodas.

Despite their victory, the Sins are saddened that with the destruction of the Demon King, they have missed the opportunity to break Elizabeth's curse. She tells them that this is already done, that what she most wanted was for Meliodas to be the same since she would never see him again if he became the Demon King. Elizabeth says she can always reincarnate if she dies, but Merlin asks if she really is okay with that.

There, Meliodas surprises everyone by claiming that he acquired the power to break the curse while escaping from the Purgatory. Gowther tells him that making a joke like that can get him killed, but Meliodas says he's not kidding. Despite the dissonance of this and Ban, Merlin uses her Curse Discovery for the curses of Meliodas and Elizabeth to take physical form. There, Meliodas assumes the appearance he had when he was Demon King and tells Elizabeth that despite having made her wait 3,000 years will fulfill the promise he made her. Meliodas easily destroys the two curses and with that Elizabeth embraces him with joy since his long journey has ended, but then it is rectified that their trip together has only begun.

Celebration for the end of the Holy War

Gowther and the rest celebrating the end of the Holy War

With the end of the Holy War, the Sins return to Liones and that night all attend to the celebration on the new Boar Hat. There, Gowther is seen drinking along Mael. As he gives a new refill, Gowther is surprised by the facts that the stronger of the Four Archangels is in fact a crybaby.

The day after the end of the Holy War, Gowther join Elizabeth and the rest of the Sins in the Boar Hat to their journey to stocking up across Britannia.

As they make up a picnic, the woman waits while the men goes for food in the forest. Hawk tries to save him, but ends up in the same situation, forcing Gowther to save both. Gowther then accompanies his companions to urinate together. When Meliodas says they must return, Gowther worries about Meliodas keeping a secret. While their trip is resumed, Elizabeth worries that everyone is quiet and depressed. Meliodas insinuates her saying that they are just tired because they have not gone out to restock in a long time. Elizabeth sets him aside claiming that the conversations they had took away the urge to speak.

Gowther and Merlin realize that they are not heading to Liones, to which Meliodas reveals that he intends to make a stop earlier. In what remains of Edinburgh castle, Gowther comments how Escanor lost control there in the past. Meliodas asks everyone to wait while he goes, but Elizabeth decides to accompany him. The two fly inside the huge crater created 12 years ago, where they find a large sphere of darkness, revealing itself to be where the vampire Gelda was sealed by Meliodas.

Upon returning to Liones, Diane goes with her friends to a meeting organized by King Baltra. There, he asks Meliodas to marry Elizabeth and become the king. Baltra ensures that Elizabeth will have no objection, but she says she can not accept. Everyone is stunned when Elizabeth reveals that she plans to go to the Demon Realm with Meliodas.

The Sins having a final moment with Meliodas

The Sins having a final moment with Meliodas

The Sins meet in the Boar Hat discussing what happened. Gowther expresses the surprising thing that a princess thinks of something like that, to which Meliodas agrees with Merlin that Elizabeth was always that determined, even when she presented him with Stigma 3,000 years ago. Gowther asks him if he has no regrets in that world. Meliodas says he would have liked to see his son having a scruffle with Ban's, but he also has a mountain of regrets. Since even though the war was stopped for the time being, the hatred between the Demon Clan and the other races has not completely disappeared, not to mention those lost during the war, including Arthur whom Meliodas claims to have been a magnificent king. Meliodas laments for only having worried the last millennia to break the curses and have left his only little brother die twice, stating that he deserves to be in hell for all this.

The Sins deny that by claiming that he is a good person. Meliodas thanks them affirming that he is who he is today thanks to the fact that the six of them were always there for him. There, Meliodas declares the Seven Deadly Sins officially disbanded.

The next day, Elizabeth and Meliodas has an emotional farewell at the entrance to the Demon Realm. However, before being able to cross the entrance, a gigantic rock is detached from a nearby boulder and falls over Elizabeth, seemingly crushing her to death. Everyone, especially Meliodas, can not help but look with horror that the curse was not broken after all.

However, Elizabeth is saved in the last minute by Merlin who teleport she to safety just in time. Merlin then uses Curse Discovery to reveal that Elizabeth's curse was restored. Meliodas tries to destroy it once more, but as soon as he does, the curse regenerates again. Meliodas concludes that this is because as the curse was put by the Demon King, it continues to exist because the Demon King is still alive. Merlin and Gowther wonders how it can be given that the Commandments have no vessel, and that is not possible to any human or animal around to become a new vessel since they would torn appart unable to resist the power. Elizabeth and Meliodas conclude that Zeldris, the only one besides Meliodas capable of resisting the Commandments, has become the vessel of the Demon King.

Ban and the Sins decides to fight the Indura

Ban and the Sins decides to fight the Indura

Elizabeth and the Sins return to Boar Hat to discuss the situation of the Demon King still alive. Ban states that the Demon King is thw one who restore Elizabeth's curse as a payback to Meliodas. When Merlin asks who can be the new vessel of the Demon King, Meliodas claims not to know. There, everyone feels that the entrance to the Demon Realm is being opened again to which Merlin recognizes is to invoke an fearsome Indura. King ask Hawk and Escanor report the situation to the king and the Great Holy Knight and Ban states that he and the other Sins will face the Indura while Meliodas protect Elizabeth since he is the only with the power to do it.

In the center of Britannia, the Sins faces the giant Indura that was summoned. When the Indura accumulates a bulbing in his tail, King notices several magical auras building up there, but Gowther points that those are life forces. The Idura then release a big object from his tail that explotes and scatter in multitude of small objects. Merlin then discover than they are in fact the Indura offspring.

Gowther attacking the Indura

Gowther attacking the Indura

Since their attacks can not reach them, Diane and Gowther let King and Merlin take care of eliminating the Indura babies but Gowther soon sees that they are too many and that they caused a disaster by dispersing through Britannia. King comes to the conclusion that his only option is to use Sunflower to incinerate all the area, but Diane warns him that it would also kill all the humans and animals around. King insists that it's the only way out, but Ban jumps in saying he'll take care of it.

Gowther ask Merlin if Ban is weilding his Sacred Treasure, which Merlin confirms that is Courechouse. Using it, Ban manages to eliminate thousands of Indura babies with an incredibly extended and powerful Assault Hunt.

The Indura then launches the attack, but the Sins manage to finish it with the combination of their attacks. Gowther uses Blackout Arrow to prevent the Indura for counterattack.

In the Lake Salisbury, in middle of his fight with Meliodas, the Demon King notices that something is approaching at high speed. This result to be the heads of the Indura that Ban, King, Diane, Gowther and Merlin have launched towards him. Meliodas wonder why are they there, to wich Elizabeth say that they come for him. With the arrival of the five, Gowther say that both the time and distance were exactly as they calculated.

Meliodas angrily says that it is not their fight and order them to return, but all the Sins express their desire of help. Diane gets funny that Gowther is still unable to read the vibe when this say that they must fight the Demon King anyways if he lose.

As the Demon King is taking back from a combined attack of Merlin and Elizabeth, Merlin tell Gowther to take Meliodas inside the Demon King's soul and detach him from Zeldris while they distract him. Not wanting to allow it, the Demon King launch several dark slashes that Meliodas, Ban and King are forced to intercept. The Demon King then attacks the others. Merlin teleports to avoid him while Ban takes Diane, Gowther and Elizabeth.

King uses True Pollen Garden to protect everyone and tell Gowther to use the chance to take Meliodas in. Gowther tries, but King's defenses are quickly broken, forcing Meliodas to keep fighting. Merlin states that fighting the Demon King and protect Gowther and Meliodas' bodies at same time is too difficult for them to do it.

Gowther and Meliodas inside Zeldris' spiritual world

Suddenly, Escanor, having ragined his magic power, stops a lunge of the Demon King with his arm. As this one recites a poem about how he has decided to offer his life for his companions, Meliodas exclaims that he stops because what will happen if he stays that way.

As he starts a fight with the Demon King, Escanor overcomes him with Divine Sword Escanor, saying that killing a god is the only way the fire inside him will go out. Escanor tells Meliodas to save his brother while he manages the situation, since he will not be able to continue in that world if he accidentally kills the Demon King. Escanor then begins to cough and languish, just when a Demon King furious at his words attacks him. However, Ban interfere sending him to fly with a kick and then King rains his True Increase. Having finally the opportunity, Gowther shoots an arrow from Herrit that manages to hit the Demon King, successfully entering his soul along Meliodas.

Gowther prevents Meliodas from touching a illusion

Once inside what Meliodas recognizes as the place where he used to hunt dragons with Zeldris, Gowther guides him towards the direction that a presence feels. Gowther warns him that since they are in the spiritual world of Zeldris and the Demon King, they cannot come into contact with either of them or they will be expelled as intruders. So, Zeldris is the only one who can fight his father and as before, they can only help him with their voices and minds.

Gowther and Meliodas finally find Zeldris taken prisoner of a flashing Gelda. Despite Meliodas archieves in awakening Zeldris and this one realizes that is talking with a fake Gelda, the Demon King creates many illusions of Zeldris. Meliodas pretends to cut every string until find the real one, but Gowther jumps to stop him, recieving Meliodas' slash and falling over one of the illusions, making it dissapear. Gowther reminds Meliodas that if he stimulate even a single string he will be recognised as a foreign object and forcely removed, jus like him. As Gowther fades away from the spiritual world, he tells Meliodas that the only way to save Zeldris is distinguish the real one from the illusions.

Gowther return to the real world

Gowther return to the real world

Gowther returns to the real world, telling the other Sins that Meliodas is having troubles in the spiritual world. He takes charges of Gelda's body while they are protected in Merlin's Perfect Cube along Elizabeth and Diane.

When King, Ban and Escanor are wounded by the Demon King, Elizabeth ask Merlin to release her Perfect Cube. Even with the risk of her curse, Merlin do it and Elizabeth uses Invigorate to heal the three fighters. A sudden whirpool sucks Elizabeth and apparts Gowther and the others from her, as a lightning bolt is about to fall over the princess. Fotunately, Meliodas return from the spirit world in time to Full Countering the lightning to the Demon King.

Elizabeth takes charge of Gelda as Gowther joins his fellow Sins in the fight.

When Diane uses her Mother Creation against the Demon King, King then decides to ask Diane that once they defeat the Demon King, they get married. Diane blushes and screaming that of course she will, she throws all the rubble that manages to take the Demon King of Lake Salitsbury, thus cutting off his source of magic.

The Sins regroup as Meliodas declares that their mission to end the Demon King will begin.

The Sins attacking the Demon King together

The Seven Deadly Sins attacking the Demon King together

By witnessing the fight that breaks out, Diane can't believe that the Demon King can go toe to toe with Escanor as The One. Gowther marks that the Demon King is taking damage from Escanor's blows, but Ban says that the problem is time.

The Demon King proceeds to bury a blow to Escanor in the womb, but surprisingly, Escanor's power does not diminish despite having spent his time as The One. Diane and King wonder how it is possible to continue as The One, to which Meliodas reveals that Escanor is turning his own vital force into magical power, pretending to burn his own life. Gowther is alarmed by that.

When the Demon King is released creating a great monster of darkness, Escanor jumps to face him claiming he did an oath that day and will keep it, that with the life he once wanted to leave, he goes to stake for him and his friends, the Seven Deadly Sins.

Meliodas also jumps in his Assault Mode saying that if he is going to put his life on the line for them, then the only thing right is for them to do the same for him. The Sins go back agreeing, telling Escanor that he has not been alone for a long time. Combining their techniques, the Sins manage to destroy the monster of darkness.

Escanor then tells everyone that it is too late to back out, so he will give everyone an order: Give him the honor of fighting at his side. Meliodas cries saying they are a team until the bitter end.

The Sins launching to the Demon King

The Sins stars their final battle with the Demon King

The Sins together are able to take the Demon King until his limit. There, with the Demon King practically defeated both in the spirit world and in the real world, the Commandments begin to leave Zeldris's body until they completely detaches from him, allowing Zeldris to recover his physical body.

Enraged, the Demon King rises and saying that they observe him, the Commandments separate and disperse in the surrounding area beginning to take over every living being, rock and hill. Thus, the Demon King stands with a new, gigantic and monstrous vessel created from the same land of Britannia.

The Demon King says he can see the faces of people in Britannia crumpled in fear all thanks to the sinful foolies they have commited. He then shouts to be resigned to their deaths because there is no greater crime than opposing the Demon King. However, the Seven Deadly Sins makes a completely confident face. The Demon King demands to know why they have that expression on their faces, Gowther says that he hates the old men that cannot take a hint.

As the Sins launch to the attack, the Demon King uses Death Zero to immobilize them with gravity pressure. He tells them to be slowly crushed out from existence as insects that have no chance against a mountain, as Merlin starts making some chants.

The Sins preparing their ultimate techniques

The Demon King continues to make pressure in his technique, claming that he will end the Holy War having taking the life forms whitin that land as vessel. However, Merlin uses Limit Breaker, rising hers and her companions's magic power to the absolute top, breaking the Death Zero in the process but she warns her friends that all mut have to rest for a week after that.

Gowther launch his Killer Switch along the other Sins's strongest techniques that Melin combines in a single powerful attack using Power Conversion: Unify. The Demon King believes that his power The Ruler will protect him, but Merlin reveals that the Killer Switch that Gowther have used was not an attack, but a spell that negates his power. The Demon King tries to destroy the combined attack with Death Zero, but the attack proves to be too powerful as Gowther remarks that he is not able to overcome the resolve within their hearts.

Meliodas creates various clones that repeteadly uses Full Counter in the combined attack sending it back at the Demon King, multiplying its power each time. The Demon King cries that if the attack hits him again Britannia will be damaged. However, with Merlin's approval, Meliodas sends the attack to the Demon King, killing him once and for all.

In the resultant destruction, King uses True Pollen Garden to protect the rest of the Sins. Then, he and the Sins fall out of exhaustion as a result of Merlin's Power Limit Breaker. As Mael and Elizabeth heal them, Gowther shows that his doll body not feel pain but it could break if he moves too much.

Diane then calls for Meliodas to show that the Commandments are still there. Merlin explains that despite that they defeat the Demon King, his power could revive after decades or centuries. Meliodas then unleash his true magical power to destroy the Commandments, causing a resonating between the two Demon Kings that affect the area.

While everyone watches Zeldris and Gelda flying away, Escanor says it's time to do the same because everyone is waiting for them. Sad, they say they must all return together, showing that everyone has already seen that Escanor is about to die since his body is burned to the point that it disintegrates and can no longer move.

Escanor says he has no regrets in his life and thanks everyone for allowing themselves to meet him and meet. He gives each person a few last words. He tells Gowther that he was the best confidant he could have.

King of Chaos arc[]

The Sins and Elizabeth in the banquet

The Sins and Elizabeth in the banquet

Upon returning to Liones, the Sins join the celebration banquet in the castle. There, everyone present murmurs about the burns on Merlin's face. Elizabeth then approaches her saying that they can go outside to treat her wound if she finds it very loud there. Merlin asks if her scars really look so bad, to which Elizabeth replies that she does not care as long as she is well with them. Diane, King and Gowther say the same thing about it being a respectable and incredible brand in which Escanor will always live.

Diane happily states that despite the sadness about Escanor, all the Sins have achieved their goals, with Gowther have recovering his lost heart. Diane ends up realizing that she never knew what Merlin's goal was since she never talked to them about it. King states that she was working with Meliodas before forming the Seven Deadly Sins, to which Gowther states that have been working for 3,000 years.

Merlin then declares that as comrades of fate, everyone deserves to know and see it. Merlin then teleports the Sins and Elizabeth to Lake Salisbury where they find Hawk Mama in front of the orb of water that used to be the lake. Merlin then says it's time to start, when Meliodas asks her what, Merlin surprises everyone by declaring that she refers to Arthur's awakening.

Gowther inside the deformed reality

Gowther inside Arthur's chaotic magic

Upon putting herself over the lake, Merlin removes Arthur's body still pierced by Excalibur from the Boar Hat. She says that all the preparations are ready and asks the "princess" if she is ready, to which a voice from the lake asks if it is finally time to meet their master. As the lake water begins to shine and its light reaches Excalibur, Merlin tells Arthur that she was wrong since the sword was not the one that would kill him but the key to advancing to his new stage. Merlin uses the "key" to unlock the door.

After an explosion of light, Arthur wakes up having revived. However, he begins to act strangely as if his body aches. Merlin says that humans are the most polarizing of all races because they possess qualities of good and light at the same time as of evil and darkness, their very existence is the essence of contradiction, and this contradiction is a form of chaos. She declares the human chosen by the priestess of Chaos will become the ruler of Chaos.

Gowther confirming the truth about Merlin's actions

Gowther confirming the truth about Merlin's actions

Meliodas asks Merlin to tell him what she did to Arthur, to which she replies that as she already told him, her goal was to awake Arthur, but as the "King of Chaos".

Merlin tells Arthur not to reject the immeasurable magic that was granted to him, but to embrace it. Arthur tells her that he doesn't understand, that his body hurts and asks for help. As his eyes turn black, Arthur starts screaming desperately in pain, to which Meliodas flies to help him. However, seeing him Arthur remembers that the last time he saw him he had betrayed his companions and allied with the Demon Clan.

A strange magic leaves Arthur wrapping it all up, and the surroundings suddenly transform into a bizarre and meaningless scenario. While the Sins are separated in that deformed reality, Elizabeth, Diane and Hawk remains in a single tower wondering what is happening. Gowther looks at the opposite side of the tower without knowing how he can stand against gravity. Hawk exclaims what kind of hallucination it is, to which Gowther states that it is reality.

Cath Palug sucks Arthur, Elizabeth and the Sins into his dimension

Cath Palug sucks Arthur, Elizabeth and the Sins into his dimension

Arthur then manages to calm down and reality returns to normal. Meliodas then asks Merlin what she did to Arthur and what he means by "chaos". Merlin explains that chaos is a pure and at the same time impure power of darkness feared even by demons and light worshiped even by goddesses; an immense power that is believed that a single intention brought about the world and all races from nothingness, including the Demon King and the Supreme Deity. Merlin declares that Arthur commands chaos and that he is the king who will lead Britannia into a new world. Arthur is very confused by what Merlin says.

Meliodas asks why she awaken a power that is both a blessing and a curse, and demands to know what her desire is. The voice from the lake asks to be allowed to explain instead of Merlin, about the desire made by a single lonely witch who wandered the land in search of chaos.

The Sins and Elizabeth thinking about Merlin

The Sins and Elizabeth thinking about Merlin

The being inside the lake, revealed herself as the Lady of the Lake and the Priestess of Chaos, reveals that Merlin hid the truth about Chaos from everyone, including Meliodas. She then goes on to tell Merlin's past about her difficult life in Belialuin and her encounter with Meliodas. The Lady of the Lake explains that Merlin sought all her life to resurrect Chaos and that she used the Seven Deadly Sins to kill the Demon King. She also reveals that Merlin was the one who asked the giant craftsman Dubs to create the Coffin of Eternal Darkness to seal the Demon King and the Supreme Deity, also deliberately delaying the spell of the Chrono Coffin for the Demon King to possess Meliodas, she was the one who reactivated Elizabeth's curse after Meliodas destroyed it and finally made Meliodas launch their combined attack on the lake; All in order to achieve her goal.

Diane and King are shocked in disbelief at all that, and King asks Merlin to say something. Merlin explains that to revive Chaos it was not enough to seal the Demon King and the Supreme Deity, one of the two had to be completely destroyed to disrupt the balance. Gowther is sad to confirm that what the Lady of the Lake told them is true.

Gowther expressing his opinion about Merlin's actions

Gowther expressing his opinion about Merlin's actions

When Meliodas reproaches Merlin for using the Seven Deadly Sins to revive a being that may never exist, the Lady of the Lake states that Chaos exists and that they have already been face to face with it for a long time. When Gowther and the rest no seems to understand, the Lady of the Lake reveals that they have been traveling on it and that all that time has been waiting for her resurrection; leaving everyone shocked to see that she refers to Hawk Mama. There, Hawk Mama is revealed to be a moss shell whose content, Chaos, is now inside Arthur. Arthur then have another episode altering reality without noticing it.

When Cath shows itself happy to see Arthur, Ban asks who he is, to which Gowther explains that they met him in the training cave in Istar. Cath then devours one of Arthur's arms and when it transforms into a monstrous form, the Lady of the Lake tells them that they must retrieve their arm or they will soon know how powerful even a fragment of Chaos is.

While Elizabeth heals Arthur, the Lady of the Lake reveals the true identity of the monster Cath Palug, who was after the power of Chaos witin Arthur. The monster then asks an affected Arthur if he can eat him now, creating a pocket dimension with the fragment of Chaos he had devoured, sucking Arthur, Elizabeth and the Sins in it.

After Arthur destroys the dimension and Cath Palug with a new Excalibur, he faints from tiredness in Merlin's arms. Elizabeth tells Merlin that they should take him to the kingdom, but Merlin just thanks her for healing him and before Elizabeth can reply, she teleports them all away claiming she can't keep up with them.

Gowther and King arguing about Merlin

Gowther and King arguing about Merlin

As everyone is returned to Liones, Gowther notices that they are without Merlin and Arthur.

While everyone laments later, Meliodas declares that Chaos has not gone yet and that after witnessing the power that Arthur has, if he is not able to control it and yields to his own darkness, he will end up turning Britannia into a living hell and becoming a new threat.

Diane asks why Merlin hid the truth about Chaos from what Meliodas says they should ask her in person. There, Gowther intervenes contemplating if they really don't know the answer to that question. Gowther then expresses his opinion that reviving Chaos was the desire that Merlin kept in the depths of her heart not differ from that of the rest of them, but everyone would surely have stopped her from carrying it out if they had known it before. King argues that Chaos' power is very dangerous and that Merlin used them, but Gowther disputes that all power is dangerous depending on how it is used and that Merlin has also saved them all many times. Gowther goes on to say that with all their wishes fulfilled, Merlin surely decided that they no longer needed her. King reproaches him for putting himself on Merlin's side, but Gowther says he's not on anyone's side. As everyone discusses that the racial barrier prevents them from understanding each other, Gowther says that as a doll that does not belong to any race, he considers all his comrades equally valuable.

The Sins arrive to help Merlin and Arthur

The Sins arrive to help Merlin and Arthur

Meliodas says that regardless of anything, they cannot leave Chaos unseen and they must do Merlin takes responsibility for what she did. When Gowther asks him what he plans to do to Merlin, everyone feels great magic in the direction that Arthur and Merlin are.

When Cath, who was fighting Merlin, releases a large bunch of beams from his mouth over her, they are all reflected by Meliodas' Full Counter. Surprised, Merlin is healed by Elizabeth, asking both of them why they are there. Elizabeth tells her that it's not just them, revealing that all the other Sins also went.

Merlin rushes to help Arthur confirming that he is only unconscious. Meliodas then tells Merlin that they will make her take responsibility for resuscitating Chaos, so she must devote the rest of her life to protecting and guiding Arthur. Merlin says he didn't have to go there to tell her that, since that was already her plan. Meliodas adds that they also have responsibility for forgiving her foolishness, so he asks her to allow them to protect her. Merlin thanks you by saying that she is indebted to everyone.

As Cath Palug regenerates, he manages to trap everyone except Arthur and Meliodas inside visions. Gowther and the rest wake up when Arthur begins to absorb Cath Palug. After returning to reality, everyone agrees to support Arthur in his creation of an everlasting kingdom.

After defeating Cath Palug, the Sins reunite in the streets of Liones as they decide to part in their own ways. Gowther says that he will set out to find his new destiny in the world and that he already has a place in mind. Diane asks if he will be alone on his own and if he wants to go with her and King, but Gowther states that he will never be alone since the Sins will always be there if he needs them. Always promising to be friends, everyone leaves.

Ten years later, Gowther and the other Sins return to Liones in prince Tristan's birthday. Gowther uses his power to show Tristan and Lancelot the history of the Seven Deadly Sins.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed by Light[]

Six months after the end of the war, Gowther attends Diane and King's wedding at the Fairy King's Forest. He helps in the battle against the army of Fairies and Giants, and then goes to Liones with the rest of his companions. When the Supreme Deity appears, Gowther and the other Sins decide to fight her. Gowther uses her Breaker Off on her, but his technique only manages to immobilize her for a single second. The Deity gets the upper hand about to destroy everyone with her power, until Meliodas arrives to help them.

After Meliodas and Zeldris defeat the Supreme Deity, Gowther and the rest attend Meliodas and Elizabeth's wedding.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh[]

Gowther goes to Liones to meet his friends and gives prince Tristan a riding lesson. Upon finding some injured citicens, Gowther amazes to see how Tristan uses his Goddess powers to heal them.

The next day, when Tristan is leaving the castle right under his nose, Gowther rushes to read his memories to find out where he's heading. At Meliodas's request, Gowther uses his Broadcast to relay that information to Ban, Diane, and King.

Gowther then goes along with Ban and Meliodas to Edinburgh to help Tristan. There the three easily finish off the army of Empties.

Four Knights of the Apocalypse[]

Dalflare Range arc[]

Some time before the sixteen-year timeskip, Gowther settled in Dalflare Range, where he took charge of the demons who decided to abandon the battle during the Holy War. To this end, he created an enchanted monolith that produced a barrier that would ward off anyone with evil intentions and kept demons hidden under an illusory disguise that made them look human, thus allowing them to live in peace like any other village. Gowther himself hid under the guise of an old man who would act as the "Elder" of the village.

The "Elder" introduces himself to Percival and Donny when they arrive at the village, welcoming them. He then gives them the village's Under Ale. When Donny asks why the residents don't say anything, he tells them that none of them know the Britannian language, to which Percival says that's not an inconvenience for being friends. Sin suddenly appears, asking the Elder who he really is, if he is after Percival and the Dragon Handle, having also noticed the bird that he has been using to spy on them from Cant. Upon hearing Sin's name, the Elder decides go talk to him in private while the others make food for Donny and Percival.

The Elder congratulates Sin on seeing who he really is, offering him space to rest after his journey.

When Ardbeg appears revealing that he tricked Nasiens and Anghalhad into destroying the idol that protected the village, the Elder tries to explain to him that the demons present left the clan after refusing to fight in the war, but Ardbeg is only interested in killing the demons and using an Amber of the Four Archangels to seal them all.

When Percival and the rest decide to go after Arbeg, the Elder tells them that he must have gone to his hideout in the Crystal Grotto. He asks Percival if he really wants to save the members of a clan who caused so much disgrace to humans, to which Percival says that he doesn't hate an entire species just because of what some of them did. By letting them go, the Elder recognizes that Percival is one of the Four Knights of Apocalypse who will bring hope to the world.

The Elder appears in the Crystal Grotto after Ardbeg use his magic to turn Percival and the rest into babies. Revealing that he knows the true reasons for his stay at the Grotto, hoping to see his deceased daughter again, the Elder offers to reunite him with her in exchange for him to undo her magic and gave him the Amber. Ardbeg is incredulous at his words and asks how his Reverse didn't affect him. The Elder explains that his magic requires one minute for every year that he rejuvenates, so having it over 3,000 years, it would take about 3,000 minutes to affect him. Ardbeg is shocked by such a statement and demands that I tell him who he really is.

The "Elder" strikes a striking pose and after undoing his magic, he reveals himself as Gowther the Goat's Sin of Lust. After explaining his reasons for helping the demons and recovering the Amber, Gowther asks Ardbeg to stop when he takes Percival and Anghalhad prisoners, but he runs away with them.

Gowther catches up to him, asking for them to speak, but Ardbeg threatens to dive into the void if he gets close. Gowther shows him an illusion of his daughter to convince him not to. Although Ardbeg is able to understand that it is false, the joy invades him to see and feel his daughter again. Although Ardbeg and Gowther manage to reach an understanding, an attack from two magic-infused spears alarms Gowther. He is forced to jump to save Percival from one of them, ending up holding onto the edge of the mountain while Ardbeg sacrifices himself to save Anghalhad.

After Sin eliminates the spybird with an arrow, Gowther thanks him, to which Sin says that he did not do it because he was his friend but that he owes him one that time. Gowther then analyzes the brainwave patterns of the spear that killed Ardbeg and discovers that he belongs to the Chaos Knight Tamdhu who is 9.2 miles away with others. Gowther then takes out Twin Bow Herrit and shoots a loaded arrow with his Jack, managing to hit Tamdhu with it.

When Percival and the others are back to normal, Gowther shows up offering to explain everything that happened.

Back at the village, Gowther talks to Anghalhad about how after seeing his daughter's illusion, Ardbeg decided not to kill them, return the Amber and flee. However, Anghalhad realizes that there is a lie in his story and asks him to know what it is. Gowther confesses that Ardbeg died, to which she bursts into tears.

After they leave, Dolchomonte talks to Gowther about the danger Percival will face on his journey, to which Gowther tells him that he can't go with him but is sure he will get over it.

Camelot Infiltration arc[]

When Anghalhad and Donny are attacked by Beltreipe and apparently killed by him, this is revealed to be an illusion that Gowther created. Gowther then reveals himself to everyone, saying that he was sent to Camelot to support them and that he kept himself hidden using a spell that made everyone perceive him as a rock.

Although Beltreipe flatters him for being able to deflect his thrust, Gowther realizes the level of the enemy they face, given that the slash was able to reach him, severing an arm and a leg, as well as destroying the floating land they were standing on. When everyone falls into the void, Anghalhad clings to Gowther so that he falls with them into a Chaos Hole.

When everyone lands in an unknown forest, Anghalhad is alarmed by Gowther's condition, but he reacts completely normally, explaining that he is a doll and that Thetis will be able to repair him without problem. However, Gowther says that they must flee as soon as possible since they will not be able to escape Beltreipe a second time. Donny carries Gowther on his back since he couldn't move and Gowther comments how it reminds him of how Howzer carried him years ago when they liberated Liones.

The group ends up in the middle of Pellegarde's territory, but the latter says he just wants to talk. Taking them to eat at his house, Pellegarde states that he will be honest with them, although Gowther still tries to use his Invasion on him, but Pellegarde blocks it with his wine glass.

When Bourse alerts that a Chaos Knight has discovered them, Pellegarde helps them by giving them time to escape, but when they are eventually discovered, Pellegarde is forced to help catch them. After eliminating the Empties with his Shiranui to do the job himself, Pellegarde asks their forgiveness but states that he must fulfill his duty as a knight of Camelot. There, one of his giant wolves controlled by Gowther's severed arm bursts in, crushing the other knight. The arm then fires one of Gowther's techniques at Pellegarde, but he, apparently unaffected, unleashes the Banka, trapping the group in a fire vortex. Although this convinces the other Knight that the targets were eliminated, this is revealed to be a scheme that Gowther conveyed to Pellegarde with his Broadcast technique of using his fire as a diversion so that they could flee to Britannia through Tethis's portal.

After waking up in Liones with Thetis, Gowther explains to everyone what really happened and is then taken to the castle by Thetis to be repaired. Gowther asks if Diane and King were informed of the partnership, to which Tethis tells him that they can never know what to expect from the time senses of a fairy and a giant.
